Attractions
This region joins the Discovery coast of South West Victoria with the Limestone Coast of South East South Australia. It is famous for it's timber industries, great agriculture lands and reliable rain fall. Twenty five minutes to the West of Ondra is Mt Gambier.
This is a large regional centre which provides shopping, resturants, cafes, a cinema and many local attractions. Mt Gambier is built around the Crater lakes of which The Blue lake is world famous for its changes of color.
Penola is to the North, a small town with great galleries on the edge of the Coonawarra wine region. It was the home of Sister Mary MacKillop.
To the South of Ondra you will find Dartmoor and the Waterfall gardens.
Then on to Nelson at the mouth of the Glenelg River and some fabulous fishing opportunities.
A day trip to the South East is Portland, one of Australia's deepest sea ports, beautifull beaches and a large fishing fleet.
If we head East to Casterton nestled in the Glenelg and Wannon River Valleys, we find the home of the Kelpie Dog.
